Our practice has been recognized by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation as meeting the requirements for Accreditation of our Nuclear and Echocardiography Laboratories and providing quality services to patients receiving Adult Stress Echocardiogram, Echocardiogram, and all Nuclear Stress testing.

HISTORY OF CARY CARDIOLOGY

Cary Cardiology has been serving the Triangle and its communities for over 30 years. The practice originated with Dr. Priyavadan M. (P.M.) Shah starting a solo practice in 1982 at MacGregor Village. He was joined by Dr. Dhiren N. (D.N.) Shah in 1991 and the office moved to Keisler Drive. As Cary began to grow, they responded to meet the cardiac needs of the community. During the summer of 1999, Dr. Rama Garimella joined Cary Cardiology. Dr. Sunil Desai and Dr. Pratik Desai joined the practice in 2000, with Dr. Joshua Macomber following in 2007 and Dr. Pavlo Netrebko in 2009. Dr. Rajesh Vakani joined Cary Cardiology in 2013 providing strong support to the Harnett County community and now sharing that support in Wake County also.

OUR TEAM

Dr. Pavlo Netrebko is a board-certified cardiologist that specializes in Electrophysiology and joined Cary Cardiology in 2008.

Dr. Netrebko obtained his medical degree from the Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy, Ukraine, where he graduated with distinction. He completed his internal medicine residency at Hahnemaan University in Philadelphia, and cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Geisinger Clinic in Pennsylvania.

He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. His main area of expertise is in management of cardiac arrhythmias, with special interest in atrial fibrillation ablation.

He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Physicians, American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.

Dr. D.N. Shah is a board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist with Cary Cardiology. Since 1991, he has been a physician with Cary Cardiology.

Dr. Shah completed his studies at P.J. Science College in Surat, India, and the Government Medical College, South Gujarat University, in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Shah is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and board certified in cardiovascular diseases. His specialty training includes nuclear imaging and pacemaker insertions.

He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and American Medical Association. His languages are English, Hindi and Guajarati.

Dr. P.M. Shah is a board-certified cardiologist who brings more than 30 years of experience to Cary Cardiology. Since 1981, he has been a physician with Cary Cardiology, and has served on our Invasive Cardiology Committee as well as ECG, ECHO and Non-Invasive Committees. Since 1991, he has been the physician-in-charge for the Intensive Care Unit at WakeMed Cary Hospital, where he also has chaired the Cardiovascular Committee since 2009.

Dr. Shah completed his studies at Baroda Medical College, M.S. University, in India, and his residency and cardiology fellowship at Hackensack Hospital, Hackensack, NJ. He also holds a bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree from S.S.G. Hospital in Baroda, India.

He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. His specialty training includes interventional cardiology and nuclear studies. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Medical Association and North Carolina Medical Society. His languages are English, Hindi and Guajarati.

Dr. Rajesh Vakani is a board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist who joined Cary Cardiology in 2013.

His previous experience includes serving as the director of the Heart Failure Program at the Dorn VA Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine with the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Dr. Vakani’s clinical interests include non-invasive cardiology and cardiovascular diagnostics including echocardiography, vascular ultrasound and nuclear stress testing, as well as device management. He is board certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, internal medicine and pediatrics.

Dr. Vakani earned his undergraduate degree in biochemisty from New York University. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo Medical School. He completed his residency with a combined internal medicine/pediatrics program and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He is accepting new patients in the Dunn office and is providing quality care to the Harnett County community.

Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular disease, Dr. Saeed specializes in all aspects of cardiovascular disease including coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and interventional cardiology.

She earned her medical degree from Texas A & M Health Sciences Center College of Medicine in 2008. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in 2011. This was followed by a Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at Albert Einstein Beth Israel Medical Center and an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan.

She became part of Cary Cardiology in September 2016 and sees patients at both the Cary and Fuquay office locations. She is currently accepting new patients.
